No need to feel guilty about eating a big bowl of this Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Healthy Frozen Yogurt! You don't even need an ice cream maker to make this light frozen ice cream dessert!

You might argue that I have an addiction to sushi, as I eat some at the very least once a week. No matter the amount of good food I have in my fridge, at some point I'll just need my sushi fix.

I'm SURE some of you girls reading this are exactly the same. I can think of at least two friends who are sushi-junkies just like me. And to be honest, I don't think it's a problem at all.

Why would it be?! Sushi is healthy! At least when you stick to the simple fish ones. And lucky me, I don't like the funky mayo ones.

The other food addiction in my house is my husband's, and his thing is ice cream. And that....is not as healthy haha. One day he brought home a big tub of Reese's Ice Cream, I tasted it and unfortunately...I liked it.

The devil was in my house (just look at all the ingredients, and if you dare, the nutrition facts!). But I put my Self-Control-Yogi suits on, ignored the freezer and resisted the temptation #goodgirl.

Except it tasted really, really good so I tried to recreate something similar in taste, but a little better for you.

This Healthy Frozen Yogurt has all the flavor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream - without the sugar and calories!

I came up with a 4-ingredient healthy frozen yogurt recipe that's really easy. No ice-cream maker needed (I don't have one!), just a few ingredients to stir together and then hop in the freezer it goes.

This Reese's Peanut Butter Healthy Frozen Yogurt is so delicious and you won't feel guilty eating it! Enjoy 🙂

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
    • ½ cup smooth natural peanut butter
    • 2 tbsp honey
    • ¼ cup chocolate chips or unsweetened dark chocolate, chopped if you want to make it completely refined sugar free

    Instructions

    1. Blend together Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and honey in your food processor. Using a spoon, stir in chocolate chips.
    2. Pour in two medium size freezer bags, flatten them with your hand, leaving the air out and seal. Stack and place in the freezer (keep them flat).
    3. Freeze between one and two hours (start checking after an hour) until it reaches a soft-serve consistency, and serve.
    4. It's best eaten the same day but if you don't, place the freezer bag on the counter to defrost for a few minutes before serving (it will be rock solid!). Or you could also break it up into barks (I love eating it this way!).

So now you want to get the rest of us in trouble… 🙂 It does sound very good, and I just figured out that if I were to use PB2, it would bring the calories down to where this would make an excellent snack.

Haha I would never do such a thing! ? I've never used PB2 but it's a powder, right? I think it would work perfectly blended in Greek yogurt 🙂

      If I don’t have a food processor can I use a mixer?

Hi B. You most certainly can - a Vitamix or similar blenders would work. Enjoy

Does this work in an ice cream maker?

I don't own one so didn't test this recipe with an ice cream maker, sorry. Let me know if you try it 🙂

What can be used instead of freezer bags?

      • Marie

        June 22, 2020 at 9:48 am

It wouldn't be as easy as using freezer bags but you could try lining a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread the mixture on it with a spoon and freeze it this way. I haven't tried this method though so I can't guarantee it works. Let me know if you give it a try 🙂

Works great in an ice cream maker! And if you don’t mind a few extra calories/sugars, substitute chopped up Reese’s cups for the chocolate bits. I mixed the yogurt, honey & peanut butter in a smoothie blender (similar to a bullet) before putting it into the ice cream maker. I put the Reese’s in the freezer while the rest churned and added them at the last minute.

Can this be stored in a freezer container with an airtight seal? I have an ice cream container but wondering if it needs to lie flat and thin to maintain consistency. Is that why you suggest freezer bags?

Yes, that's why I recommend freezer bags! It's best to store it flat and thin to maintain consistency

I just made it, I like that it's a treat I can share with my dog, (minus the chocolate chips), I was wondering what's the longest you have kept it frozen? I almost threw a banana in but decided to try it your way first, the ratio of ingredients is perfect. Thx

Hi Elizabeth! If you store it in the back of the freezer it should be good for a month!

Hi Linda! I am not sure as I do not follow that program. Sorry - but I am sure there must be online calculators for this.

Really want to try this! My question is, did you use fat-free Greek yogurt? Or will it be a better flavor/ consistency if I use full or partial fat? Thanks!

The more fat the better for this one!
