These Citrus Marinated Chicken Drumsticks are coated in a simple, and flavorful sweet & sour marinade made from orange -, lemon-, lime juice and honey, then baked to tender perfection.
Fans of easy chicken dinner will love this recipe for Citrus Marinated Chicken Drumsticks! A marinade made from orange juice, lime juice and lemon juice, garlic and honey makes the chicken practically fall off the bone tender once baked in the oven for 50 minutes!
I usually eat a lot of chicken breast (in various forms!), especially for lunch, because it's convenient, very easy to cook and a great source of lean protein. My favorite chicken cut, however, is actually the drumsticks.
I LOVE dark chicken meat! It's so much juicier and moister than the white parts. Yum! And look at this beautiful golden brown crispy skin... Drool-worthy, right?
For those of you, who wonder whether the dark or the white chicken meat is better for you, I have some good news: Compared with white meat, the dark meat of chicken drumsticks contains more iron, zinc, riboflavin, thiamine, and vitamins B6 and B12.
And, hey, both have less fat than most cuts of red meat, so you can't really go wrong with chicken in general, and these baked Citrus Marinated Drumsticks in particular.
The recipe for these baked Citrus Marinated Chicken Drumsticks could not be easier. I bathed the chicken in orange, lemon and lime juice with a touch of honey and garlic.
Then, I popped everything in the oven for 50 minutes and tada...I had myself some luscious drumsticks. Have I mentioned that these are totally healthy and paleo? Trust me, you don't want to toss the citrus honey sauce that comes with the chicken because that's probably the best part of the dish! Enjoy 🙂
